Salman Khan Conviction Case

After coming across so many jokes on Alia Bhatt's intelligence, i had a perception about her IQ. But her single comment on salman's conviction (relative to all other salman supporters n Bollywood " intelligent" co-stars) shakes it all.

"It hurts when your own are punished , even if they are in the wrong. We love you and are standing by you."

No other Bollywood celebrity expressed this sense of responsibility towards constitutional rule of law while commenting, because Bollywood celebrities have a huge influence on national culture , shouldn't they too have an ethical code of conduct.

Why blame only politicians for national conditions, we all are responsible for national conditions. We only point fingers to others and save ourselves and our kins. This is why india is full of hypocrites. Can we all start pointing finger to our own-selves for all social issues?

This is the first requirement/need to achieve any genuine real change to our social co-existence.
No doubt i too love Salman's artistic works but if we really seek to build a just society, we in human kingdom will have to learn to give up our dear attachments for social cause and accept it honestly. Else we cant ever rise above our current petty existence where the weak gets full punishment by due process of law and a humane influential gets supporter's support to come out of accidental mess. In such a scenario, Rule of law will end up being just another cover to continue with age-old survival game.

True genius of humanity lie in creating genuine systemic changes to natural processes with the end-purpose in mind.

Freedom of Speech and Expression in Cyberspace

In Union of India v. Assn. for Democratic Reforms the Supreme court said :“One sided information, disinformation, misinformation and non-information, all equally create an uninformed citizenry which makes democracy a farce. Freedom of speech and expression includes right to impart and receive information which includes freedom to hold opinions”.

U/A 19 of our constitution reasonable restrictions can be imposed on this fundamental right on several grounds.
Sanjeev Tyagi

Some people advocate there should be complete freedom on speech and expression at least in cyberspace. Some extended the geographical limits of this complete freedom to the physical world by doing events like AIB. They argue they deserve complete freedom everywhere and why only cyberspace.

Women Empowerment

In modern social discourse , Gender sensitivity has deservingly come up as a major social issue.  The limelight on the issue is so much that everyday public sphere is majorly occupied by incidents, comments , events , initiatives , discussions etc centred around it. One of the best fruit of democracy is that structural injustice or discriminations that got built up in social existence of our evolutionary development can come into common notice easily now. Society can be made to realise the ill-effects of existing structures and can be forced to self correct by common will. Press , Tv , social media etc have given some sort of institutional basis to this much needed process in our existence.

This issue is so complex that despite so much of debate in public sphere still we see various approaches to universally acceptable outcomes on the issue. Female and Male co-existence is intricately linked and it was always nurtured by evolving cultural values throughout ages. The roots of the process are so deep that this whole discrimination got ingrained not just in culture but psyche too with biological consequences.

UP Police Flag day History

Stories establish personalities and history creates an organisation. 23/11/1952 is a historic day in UP Police organisation, when first PM of India gave ' Police Colour ' (flag) to UP Police. This flag reflects our character and is symbolic to our proud history of how we have served nation and public with success, courage and dutifulness which includes supreme sacrifices too. This flag is inspirational for us and hoisting this flag generates new energies within us.

History of flags is associated with Napoleon Bonaparte. Force units going to different wars use to have separate flags to maintain their own unique identities and had their flag hoisted on battleground. In battleground sainik were ever ready to sacrifice self for honour of their flag. For identification of units involved in different missions earlier, Napoleon started tradition of wearing flag symbol ribbon on upper left side of heart. We all uniformed forces have accepted the same French tradition. Significance of flag is also seen in Mahabharata. Arjuna chariot had a flag in Kurukshetra war between Kaurava  and Pandavas. History is evident that this flag inspiration resulted in victory of righteousness.

In the same manner this flag of UP Police also inspires us to follow our professional duty.

Significance of Sports for Policemen

Is Sports a luxury or necessity of police force?

Police on ground works in Team. Like elsewhere, in police too good understanding of team member’s personality, temperament and capacities is a basic requirement to have professional trust for coordination and efficiency. Any team work require cooperation and coordination to move ahead as a collective force in a common direction to same goal, Individual talents utility is fully realized only where there is good cooperation and coordination in a team. Team leader’s needs to know – who can handle what?  But as the tasks handled by police teams have unique dynamics and gravity, the degree of trust and other values needed among POLICE members is much more than in any general team.

Sports help in physical fitness, alertness. Players come to know each other temperaments, personalities, physical and mental capabilities. They learn to cooperate and coordinate on field. Most importantly they learn reasons of failure. Member’s Alertness , communication gaps , complacency , coordination issues, positive attitude towards common goal , cooperation with team spirit etc can be grasped easily only in a natural context like sports.

The culture of sports is slowly diminishing because of work overload. But is it a healthy trend for the institution? The answer depends on individual’s opinion.

But do we have an institutional decision? Fortunately, yes the police institution always held sports to be an essential component of force profession. In my opinion, the sports tradition in police must continue with a larger focus for energizing policemen spirit to survive and thrive in wake of evolutionary pressures to adapt as per new needs of democracy demands.
